Our President Yamada delivered a lecture titled “The Reality of the TEPCO and the
Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant –Fukushima and Three Mile Island Accidents – Proposal from SVCF” in Akita city.
In this lecture, President Yamada voiced to step up the present Fukushima remedial efforts to a national project status, due to the fact that the patched original facilities are unlikely to withstand the dismantling work estimated over 10 years, and the difficulties of removing spent fuel.
This lecture was planned and organized by a SVCF supporting member, Mr. Renjiro Ishikawa (former Mayor of Akita city). More than 30 people participated and a lively debate and exchange of views ensued.
