The 41st Regular Diet Meeting on “What we have seen through our radioactive monitoring activities in Minami Soma” at 11:00 a.m. on April 28 (Tue), 2015
The SVCF Regular Diet Meeting, which was established to promote exchange with not only Diet members but with supporters as well, and to stage various seminars and opportunities for SVCF members, has successfully marked the 41st round on April 28 (Tue), 2015.
For this round we had asked Mr. Tadashi MITSUDA, leader of the “Radioactive Monitoring Project around the environment surrounding the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant”, and Mr. Jun NAKAMURA, constituent member, to report on their radioactive monitoring activities in the radius of Minami Soma city. Both Mr. Mitsuda and Mr. Nakamura are former SVCF members. To our call for clean-up of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident they had responded, expressing their firm will at the early stages. Furthermore, many SVCF members have joined in this project. They have continued direct exchange and dialogue with suffered people through their monitoring activities in the severely affected area by the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident.
Through their 18 monitoring tasks, they have amassed various forms of know-how based on real experiences. We expect much of their presentations. In the current business year, we of SVCF have decided to commit ourselves in the affected areas, much more than ever before. Taking this opportunity, we wish to deepen our exchange with this project for further cooperation and study. If you could manage your busy schedule and come by, it would be highly appreciated.
The 41st Regular Diet Meeting is to be held on April 28 (Tue), 2015 at 11:00 a.m. – 13:00 p.m. in the meeting room B102 of the House of Councilors Hall, Nagata-cho, Tokyo. On that day, SVCF staff will hand out entrance permits in the front lobby on the 1st floor of the Hall. Please get such permits as you enter.
Lecturers’ profiles
Mr. Tadashi MITSUDA graduated 1968 from the Graduate School of Engineering, Tokyo Metropolitan University, with a doctoral degree. Certified Public Pollution Controller Representative of the Radioactive Monitoring Project around the environment surrounding the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant
Mr. Jun NAKAMURA, born 1949: Entered the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Nihon University. Expelled in 1971. Worked in a clinical assay company, as a private teacher in a cram school, as an electrician, on-site worker and so forth.
SVCF Watcher Report
Mr. Kazuhiko Takayama, who has led the SVCF Watcher team that suspended its activity in March this year, presented a lecture.
The SVCF Watcher team has issued monthly reports for over 3 consecutive years, since autumn 2011, based mainly on available materials publicized by TEPCO in view of the following:
1. In the reactor buildings
2. Polluted water processing
3. Monitor and surveillance by sampling
Among others, Mr. Takayama, who had worked in the reactor design division of Toshiba Co., Ltd., precisely analyzed and explained the on-going process toward decommissioning from the professional perspective.
While he reviewed the plant facilities and the condition when the accident had occurred, he pointed out and briefed on the details in the current stage, problems, and time schedule toward decommissioning. The SVCF secretariat will re-arrange Mr. Takayama’s presentation in a gist and publicize it on the SVCF website. We will inform you later, as soon as it is completed,
We have submitted the year 2015 business plan and its budget to the Cabinet Office
At the end of March, for the transition of the business year from 2014 to 2015, we convened a temporary round of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors to reaffirm SVCF’s future direction that had lingered, settled the year 2015 business plan and its budget, and submitted it to the Cabinet Office in charge.
As we hardly altered the basic policy in the current plan, we have placed emphasis on the on-site oriented activity with a reflection of the past pattern and a reframe of the long range strategy. Later we will inform you of the details in a separate occasion.
