On October 26th (Fri), we began our petition drive, addressed to the Japanese government, with the object to have SVCF participate in clean-up work at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. The drive was initiated in Tokyo, in front of Itabashi Station of the JR Saikyo Line, near which our SVCF office is located. This action was done as a trial, by our secretariats in anticipation of and preparation for our upcoming large scale campaign.
6 of us dressed in our official bibs stood front in this action. That day, there were not so many passers-by on the street and yet we were able to collect more than 75 signatures within one and a half hours and were thankful that some of them even agreed to become our support members.
Our next action will be held on November 2nd (Fri) from 2:00 pm in front of Itabashi Nishiguchi (West Exit) station. Furthermore, we will carry out a similar attempt at the “Goodbye to Nuclear Power Plants” Rally scheduled on November 11th (Sun) in front of the office of the Prime Minister and the Diet Building. (Our gathering spot will be at Nagatacho Subway Station, No.2 Exit at 2:00 pm)
Please join us on this occasion!
